In spite of doing amazing work, so many people beat themselves up considering that what they do is not important, is not good enough, carrying with them a constant feeling of dissatisfaction. If they can not see perfection in what they do they think they are failing.
It is quite common to have the inclination of looking at what we do with extremely critical eyes, finding as many faults as possible, and as a consequence engaging in a destructive mental narrative.
No one but us is responsible for making us feel worth it.
Others can say what they like, but we are the only ones that will decide what happens inside us to appreciate what we do and what we are. Our thinking will create the reaction that will set us free.
We have to become aware of the behaviors and attitudes that will make us believe that we are less than we really are, and the viewpoints that undervalue what we do, that get us caught in the filters of insecurity and take us down.
We need to look at life from the point of view that we are a source of what happens to us, and that we are able to cause worthwhile things to manifest.
WHAT WE THINK OF HOW WE DO THINGS HAS A LOT OF POWER TO INFLUENCE THE OUTCOME. It is crucial to look for points of view and attitudes that will work for us, in our favor, not against us, being aware of the ways that have been conditioning ourselves to see what we do as lacking, as underperforming.
We have to acquire the ability to manifest behavior that is consistent with a perspective that will be beneficial to see what we do -giving it all we have got, in going that extra step- for the value it really has without removing any merit from it.
We need to stop assuming things that are not true about ourselves, about our work, about what we do.
Nothing could be worse than the punishment we can inflict on ourselves by conspiring in our own diminishment.
Be true, be you, be free, be liberated from all the things that belittle you and shrink you.
It is so important that we recognize and celebrate what we do well, what we are proud of...embracing what makes us happy, what excites us, what makes us passionate, what makes us thrive, what makes our curiosity a driving force.
We need to own our greatness. We need to claim our space and our moment, we need to make our light shine today so regrets will not be a part of our journey in the future.
It is so rewarding experiencing gladness and a strong sensation of accomplishing something good.
When we value what we are and what we do, we grow. When we focus on the things that make us proud, we grow...and we become better and better.
Emphasis on gladness and selfhood is not selfish, is not fatuous, is part of living responsible, joyfully and with accountability.
"Be happy. The happy ones are the lucky ones". (A friend told me this recently, and I like it).
We need to be happy and acknowledge that what we do with effort, integrity, attention, and dedication is always a good thing. We need to be content when affirming our presence, recognizing our talents, our commitment, exploring ideas and hopes, and struggles.
When we are not timid about putting more value on ourselves, what we are trying to achieve is liberating...it makes us feel excited and vibrant.
Every day, every moment is a new opportunity waiting for us to take advantage of it.
Having the courage to own our greatness is not bragging, it is respecting ourselves.
